Oriental Kopi Turns Its Kopi O into a Ready-to-Drink Brew — What’s Behind the Move?

English Version | 中文版本

Oriental Kopi has introduced a ready-to-drink (RTD) version of its Kopi O, extending its café staple into a packaged beverage format.

The product uses the brand’s familiar three-bean blend, Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica, positioned as a “golden blend” designed to retain a bold aroma and full body. According to the release, the coffee is slow-roasted at a medium-low temperature, a process the brand associates with balancing strength and fragrance.

This launch reflects a broader pattern among café chains in Southeast Asia, translating in-store signatures into take-home and on-the-go formats. Rather than introducing a new flavour concept, the RTD Kopi O focuses on accessibility and consistency, allowing consumers to enjoy the same profile outside the café environment.

The packaged Kopi O sits alongside Oriental Kopi’s existing range of retail products, reinforcing the brand’s move from a dine-in experience toward everyday consumption. It is positioned as an extension of an already familiar drink, not a reinvention.

At this stage, the emphasis is on a format shift rather than innovation, bringing a known kopi profile into a shelf-stable form for broader, more flexible use.
