Osaka Ohsho Launches “Gyo-Nuts,” Donuts Made from Gyoza Wrapper Trimmings

Osaka Ohsho has introduced a new donut product called Gyo-Nuts (ぎょーナツ), made using surplus gyoza wrapper trimmings from dumpling production.

Developed within the Eat & Holdings Group, the product combines unused gyoza skins with standard donut ingredients.

The process involves freezing the wrapper trimmings, blending them into donut dough, and frying the donuts in-store before topping.

Gyo-Nuts are priced at 300 yen (tax included) and are offered in five flavours: Gyoza flavour, Mapo Tofu flavour, Sugar, Strawberry milk, and Chocolate.

The initial rollout covers nine Osaka Ohsho outlets across Japan. The launch is positioned as part of the group’s ongoing effort to reduce food loss by repurposing manufacturing by-products into new menu items.
