Four Core Pillars Shaping IHCEM 2026

The expo revolves around four main pillars, each highlighting different sides of the industry:

• Battle of The Chefs (BOTC) remains one of Southeast Asia’s premier culinary competitions. Bringing together established chefs, emerging talent, and international judges, BOTC is more than a contest — it’s where culinary skill, creativity, and professional pride meet. Registration for BOTC 2026 will open early next year, with the official rule book expected in February 2026.

• Malaysia Pastry & Beverage Expo (MPBE) celebrates everything from artisanal desserts to innovative beverages. Beyond tasting trends, it offers creators a platform to connect with suppliers, brands, and potential collaborators, reflecting the growing love for specialty treats in Malaysia and beyond.

• Malaysia International Hospitality Expo (MIHE) puts the spotlight on tools and solutions that make hospitality operations smarter. From kitchen equipment to digital systems, it’s where operators can discover trends and practical solutions shaping hotels, restaurants, and food service businesses.

• Asia Food Festival (AFF) brings Asian culinary culture to life through curated showcases and interactive experiences. While culture is at its heart, AFF also opens doors for brands and operators to explore collaborations and market exposure.

Why Penang?

Choosing Penang as the host city makes perfect sense. Known as one of Malaysia’s most influential food capitals, the state effortlessly blends heritage flavours with contemporary dining. Setia SPICE Convention Centre provides a modern venue capable of supporting large-scale international events, while keeping the city’s culinary soul front and center.

More Than Just an Expo

IHCEM 2026 isn’t just about showcasing products or services — it’s about participation, collaboration, and long-term growth. Chefs, educators, suppliers, and solution providers are encouraged to engage through competitions, demonstrations, partnerships, and discussions.

With preparations underway, IHCEM 2026 is shaping up to be a highlight of Malaysia’s hospitality and culinary calendar — a shared platform for the industry to connect, exchange ideas, and move forward together.
