Beutea Tests an Herbal Reset with a Limited-Time Shiso Series in Malaysia

English | 中文

Beutea is introducing a limited-time Shiso Series in Malaysia, using a familiar seasonal drop to test how far herbal-led flavours can travel in the mainstream tea space.

The series consists of two drinks built around Shiso’s clean, aromatic profile.

Shiso Bayberry Tea leans crisp and lightly tart, pairing Jasmine Tea, Bayberry, and White Jade Crystal.

Shiso Peach Tea softens the herbal edge with white peach oolong tea aiyu jelly, keeping the finish light and refreshing.

This launch is not framed around wellness, tradition, or functional claims. Instead, the Shiso Series operates as a temperature-first menu refresh - cool, green, and deliberately restrained. It sits comfortably within everyday tea culture, without trying to redefine it.

What stands out is the restraint in meaning. Beutea isn’t asking consumers to learn Shiso or attach cultural weight to it. The ingredient is treated as a flavour mood rather than a statement, lowering the barrier to trial while still offering a clear point of difference from standard fruit teas.

Available for a limited time at outlets nationwide, the Shiso Series works less as a brand pivot and more as a low-risk experiment - testing whether subtle herbal notes can become a regular option, not just a seasonal novelty.

In a category crowded with sweetness and spectacle, this launch chooses something quieter: freshness, aroma, and a reason to come back for one more cold cup.
